The Bean Museum

Last Friday Jacklyn's class went on another school field trip and any of the parents that wanted to come were invited, and since Addison and I have had so much fun going on the last field trips we decided to go on this one too. Jacklyn's class went to the Bean Museum at BYU. They had tons of taxidermy animals on display. Everything from bears and bobcats to elephants and tigers. Dad would have really liked going. They also had a fish section with lots of different starfish, which I thought were really pretty. My favorite display though was the butterfly display. They had arranged tons of little butterflies in a way so that from a distance it looked like one big 6 foot butterfly. It was really neat to look at. Jacklyn liked that one too. After we got done walking around we sat down to for our presentation. We had a girl come and talk to us about animals and their eggs. Then she brought out a ball python snake, and she let the kids pet him if they wanted to. She also had a pacman frog but we couldn't touch him because we would make him sick, and lastly, she showed us Rosie, who is a tarantula. She got her name Rosie because she has pink spots on her back. The teacher said that if any of the kids wanted to hold Rosie they could hold their hands out and she would put Rosie in their hands. Jacklyn wanted to hold her really bad, so when Rosie came around Jacklyn held her and she really liked Rosie. After the presentation the kids got their school picture in front of the elephant and then it was time to go. It was a lot fun.

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day weekend.
